Landing Zone and Air Care landed for EMS Assist

On 03/21/2017, Rescue Engine 25 and Brush 210 responded to JT’s Auto Mart on US Hwy 1 for a patient suffering from a traumatic injury. Brush 210 arrived on the scene to find a single patient that had fallen approximately 12-15 feet from metal scaffolding and landed on a concrete floor. The patient was treated until EMS arrived on the scene. EMS then determined that the patient needed transport to a trauma center. UNC Air Care was contacted and a landing zone was set up on Rocky Fork Church Rd in an open field. Once air medical transport from UNC Air Care arrived the patient was transported to a local trauma center for further care.
