Busy week with outside brush fires

The Tramway Fire Dept ran several brush fires over the past couple days.

The first being an unattended fire that the owner thought was extinguished that under lying embers caught the surrounding area on fire and spread. The second being a fire that spread over a large area in a residential area. All fires were extinguished with little to no damage to surrounding properties.

On all outside brush/woods related fires the North Carolina Forestry Service responds to assist responding fire departments. They perform fire control and extinguish any fires along with conduct investigations to the cause of the fires.

Always remember…… Only you can prevent wildfires.
